Creates the signals

Growth & Content

Create attention that the revenue system can recognize and act on.

Growth and content are treated here as signal production, not as brand work. Every program, asset and campaign is designed to produce a signal the engine can capture, qualify and act on. If an asset cannot be connected to a commercial action, it is not produced.

Start with the Diagnostic

Why it breaks

The operating problem

Marketing output gets judged on volume and reach, because nothing downstream is instrumented. Content fills a calendar, paid media is optimised inside the ad platform, and the leads that arrive do not match the ICP the sales team is asked to sell to.

Creates the signals

Capabilities

Each capability owns one problem and states where it stops. None of these is scoped on its own, and each states what it hands to the engine.

The reasoning model

How ROUTE applies here

For a signal you are creating rather than receiving, ROUTE runs in reverse: you decide the action first, then work back to the message that earns it.

  1. Recognize

Identify the buyer question, the proof gap or the attention problem.

  2. Organize

Shape the message for the format, the channel and the stage it lands in.

  3. Understand

Decide what downstream action the asset is supposed to support.

  4. Trigger

Launch the asset into the channel that can actually carry it.

  5. Execute

Publish, measure the response, and feed it back into the model.

What ROUTE is

The operating architecture

Which layers this area builds

Growth produces the raw signal the other four layers depend on.

  1. 01

    Data

No capability in this area owns the data layer. Growth & Content work lands in it rather than building it.

  2. 02

    Context

No capability in this area owns the context layer. Growth & Content work lands in it rather than building it.

  3. 03

    Workflows

No capability in this area owns the workflows layer. Growth & Content work lands in it rather than building it.

  4. 04
  5. 05

    Control

No capability in this area owns the control layer. Growth & Content work lands in it rather than building it.

What the five layers are

Fit

Who this is for

This is your problem if

  • You produce content but cannot connect any of it to pipeline.
  • Paid media is optimised on cost per lead and nothing else.
  • Sales and marketing disagree on what a good lead looks like.

This is not your problem if

  • You want brand work with no commercial instrumentation.
  • You want production capacity only. This area is never sold on its own.

How it connects

Four domains, one revenue system.

  1. 01

Growth & Content (you are here)

    Creates the signals

  2. 02

    Revenue Design

    Designs the commercial logic

  3. 03

    Revenue Systems

    Makes the logic executable

  4. 04

    Revenue Execution

    Operates the motions

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this an agency service?

No. Everything in this area is designed to produce a signal your revenue system can recognise and act on, and it is never scoped on its own.

Can you work with our existing agency?

Yes, and it is common. We own the instrumentation and the commercial role of each asset, they keep producing. The brief simply becomes more specific.

How do you measure content?

By contribution to qualified pipeline and by adoption in sales conversations, not by reach. Reach is a diagnostic, not a result.

What if we have no content at all?

Then the first work is message architecture and three or four assets that answer the questions blocking a decision. Volume comes later, and only where it earns its place.

Next step

The entry point is the Diagnostic.

A read connects what marketing produces to what the engine does with it, which is usually where the disagreement between the two teams actually lives.
